We are situated on 275 acres of former sugarcane fields on the Big Island, and include the spectacular triple tiered Umauma Falls, acclaimed as Hawaii's most beautiful waterfall. The World Botanical Gardens have been under site development since April 6, 1995. However, a portion of the Garden was opened to public touring on July 4, 1995. We have been opened daily ever since.

The Gardens are located 16 miles north of Hilo, Hawaii, and consist of 300 acres of prime agricultural land abutting the Belt Highway on the east, and extending 1.5 miles up the slope of the extinct Mauna Kea volcano to the west. The northern border is the Umauma River which feeds the triple-tiered Umauma waterfalls with its cascading 300 foot drop.
