World Botanical Gardens is currently in the process of designing over 20 specialty gardens to increase the diversity of plants displayed in the gardens. Among the planned specialty areas are a traditional Hawaiian garden, a fragrance garden, a spice garden, a rose garden, and many, many more.

Individuals or groups who wish to establish a memorial garden may fund the plant acquisitions for one of these gardens or another specialty garden.

Persons who fund a memorial garden will gain benefits similar to those of our Garden Benefactors in our Garden Membership Program as well as a plaque in each garden noting their donation.

Two memorial gardens are currently under construction:

• Cynthia Goshert Norman Memorial Plumeria Garden: Funded by a member of our Board of Directors, this garden will showcase dozens of varieties of plumeria, the flower which is most often used in leis. Many of the plants were obtained from the world's largest growers of plumeria, Exotic Plumeria of Tampa, Florida, and its gardens on Maui. Check their website for additional plumeria photos.
• Betty Mae Goshert Mittan Memorial Daylily Garden: This garden includes hundreds of varieties of hemerocallis (daylilies) transplanted from the Mittan Botanical Gardens in Tallahassee, Florida. Over one thousand plants have already been planted with many more still to be included. Check the website for additional daylily photos.
